Snowflake Program Helps Birthfamilies

Annually, Celebrate Adoption assists Adoption Connection with their Snowflake Program during the holiday season. The program asks birthfamilies what their needs might be, and then tries to meet those requests. Items are posted on Snowflakes, which can be selected by anyone.

Last year (2010), we provided gifts and monetary donations to 18 birthfamilies (48 birthsiblings and 19 birthparents). “Shopping for others in need can be a great ‘teachable moment’ for your children,” says Nada H., chair of the Snowflake Program.

Snowflakes can be picked up at Adoption Connection after November 1; wrapped gifts are due to the agency by December 12. You can make a monetary donation at any time, or at the Holiday Party on December 11.
