Celebrate Adoption Cincinnati Committee Leadership

Celebrate Adoption Cincinnati owes its success to its dedicated, tireless core of Steering Committee volunteers.

Meet the Steering Committee

Co-Chairs
Nada H. is entering her third year as co-chair of Celebrate Adoption, and is also chairing 2011’s Snowflake Program. Nada’s family was blessed through adoption four years ago with the help of Adoption Connection. Nada feels that “Being a part of Celebrate Adoption has truly enriched our lives. Our family has made connections that will last a lifetime.”

Shannon A. continues her second year as co-chair for Celebrate Adoption, and chairs February’s Transracial/Transcultural Workshop event. A member for five years, she and husband Jason are adoptive parents of two boys, ages 5 and 2, through Adoption Connection. Shannon has her own Tastefully Simple business.

Membership
Mary A. continues in her eighth year as Membership chair. She has been a member of Celebrate Adoption for 12 years. Mary’s 19 year old daughter is starting her sophomore year in college, and she has a 12 year old son, adopted through Catholic Social Services.

Treasurer and Communications
Jennie C. has joined the committee and accepted the role of Treasurer and Communications chair after two years of membership in Celebrate Adoption. She and her husband Scott adopted their 20 month old daughter through Adoption Link.

Secretary
Julie E. continues in her sixth year as Secretary and chair of the Celebration of Women Touched by Adoption event. She has been a Celebrate Adoption member for eight years. She and her husband Dave have a son, 8, and a daughter, 6. Their family was formed through the assistance of Adoption Connection.

Historian
Patty K., Historian and four-year committee member, she and her husband Don adopted their daughter, 6, through Adoption Connection. Patty also chairs the annual Family Picnic.

Donations and Community Outreach
Kristen G. joins the committee as Donations and Community Outreach chair after her first year of membership in Celebrate Adoption. She and husband Tim are parents of a one year old son, whose adoption was facilitated by Adoption Connection.

Marketing
Sara S. brings a background in marketing, graphic design and public relations to her third year as Marketing chair. She and her husband Dave adopted their daughter, two years old, through Adoption Link.

Event Chair
Kimberly P. chairs this year’s Holiday Party. A member of Celebrate Adoption for four years, she has two girls: 5-1/2 and 3. Her older daughter was adopted in North Carolina; her younger through Adoption Connection.

Event Chair
Amy P. has been a member of Celebrate Adoption since her daughter was born 12 years ago. An integral part of the Celebration of Women Touched By Adoption event since its early days, Amy enjoys participating in the planning of this special day.

Event Chair
Amanda R. is serving in her second year as the hostess and chair of the Fall Kick-Off Social Event. She and her husband, Pete, have been members of Celebrate Adoption for three years, and their daughter is 2-1/2. Their family was formed through Adoption Connection.

Event Chair
MaryAnne M. joins the committee after a year of membership, and serves as chair of the November Educational Program. She and her husband Scott are the parents of four children, ages 17, 15, 8 and 1. Their youngest daughter joined their family through Adoption Link.

Professional Facilitator and Mentor
Patty B., Celebrate Adoption’s facilitator and mentor, is a certified Adoption Assessor and a Licensed Independent Social Worker with supervisory credentials. Patty has worked for Adoption Connection since 1994, leading pre-service training for prospective adoptive parents, conducting homestudies, and providing post adoption services. She also provides contract services to All God’s Children International. “I am passionate about providing families with information and support related to adoption issues. Adoption has a special place in my heart, as we have two daughters through adoption.”
